infographics—or the visualization of data, concepts, information—is becoming a hot thing on the web these days and at the forefront of this trend is GOOD Magazine’s Transparencies. Their images are among my favorite examples of ingenious, unique and sometimes strange infographic design.
it’s hard for me to explain what makes infographics awesome, they just are. What pops out at me when I look at GOOD’s infographics is the use of color: they are always bright and it just make the image more appealing. I also enjoy the graphics that expand my knowledge of how to show varying stats beyond the overused pie chart by changing scales, opacity or some other ingenious way.

& of course, they always look simple and easy. If you can look at an infographic and say “I could do that” then it is good in my book. The people that can break down data and statistics into something that is understandable, useful, beautiful definitely have a talent.
